upgrade to iPhone 11
When you’ve decided to pull the trigger and buy a new iPhone 11, you’re excited. Apple’s latest smartphone is pure awesomeness. Making the upgrade to your new iPhone 11 will be a smooth transition if you take the right steps.

Apple’s entire ecosystem relies on people upgrading their iPhones regularly. Therefore the tech giant has put forth lots of effort to ensure the upgrading experience is as painless as possible.
Even if you restore from an iCloud backup or use the new transfer tool to keep the process simple, there are a few things you can do the make the switch even easier. Follow these tips to make the upgrade smooth as silk.

1. Get FaceID Up & Running
Using your phone’s front-facing camera, you can unlock your iPhone using your face. This is a great security feature that’s easy to use. If you hopped over this step during the initial setup, take the time to do it now. Just head over to ‘Settings’ - ‘face !D & Passcode’ - ‘Set up Face ID’. It’s super simple and fast to do.

2. Activate Apple Wallet
This is a feature you’ll want to be activated for those times you forget your wallet. Apple Wallet allows you to tap your phone on supported credit card readers to make payments. This is one of those features you’ll be glad you set up during the transition to your new iPhone 11 so don’t overlook it.

It’s a snap to get Wallet set up, Go to ‘Wallet’, then tap on the + in the upper right. Then tap ‘continue’. Next tap on ‘Credit or Debit Card’. Now scan your card with your iPhone 11 camera. Then it’s just a matter of following the card-verification directions.

3. Upgrade to the Latest iOS
Your iPhone 11 will come installed with iOS 13 software. However, the newest iOS update will be available. At the time of this writing, the latest iOS version is 13.2.2. This version offers many new features and twerks so there’s no reason not to take it.

Your iPhone 11 may force you to install the latest version during setup. But if it doesn’t, take the time to upgrade so you can get the most out of your new device. Just head over to ‘Settings’ - ‘General’ - ‘Software Update’ -’Check for Updates’ and you’re good to go!

4. Optimize Your iPhone 11 Battery
The latest iPhone has an innovative new feature that makes sure your phone is fully charged when you need it. When you use this feature, you’ll always have an 80% battery charge right before your phone knows you’re going to use it. To set up this battery optimization charging feature do this: Go to ‘Settings’- ‘Battery’ - “Battery Health’ then ‘Optimized Battery Charging’.

5. Move Your Data Over to Your New Phone
It used to be a drag to move your apps & data from your old iPhone over your new one. Not anymore. In fact, if you’re running iOS 12.4 or later on your old phone, it’s super easy. Nowadays, you don’t have to restore data from an iCloud or iTunes backup. Just use Apple’s iPhone migration.

iPhone migration lets you transfer your apps, data, and ID directly from your old phone to your new iPhone 11 via a wireless connection. When you’re starting up your new phone, after you’re asked some questions like your preferred language, you’ll get an invite to move data from one phone to another. Agree to do it then follow the step-by-step directions.

Over to you: Your new iPhone 11 is pretty amazing. Improved camera. Better battery. New features. Fantastic, right? To make a painless upgrade to your new phone, follow the five tips above. Have fun and enjoy your iPhone 11!
